I have received requests for a parent and fencer meeting where parents and fencers can meet the coaches, learn more about classes, competitions, gear and other questions.  We will have a parent/fencer meeting on Saturday, January 20th at 1 PM at the Windsor Severance Library, 720 3rd Street in Windsor.  Come early or stay afterward and see the wonderful renovations Clearview Library District has done for our library.  This meeting is for both youth and adult fencers and parents of youth fencers.  You can meet the team at High Plains Fencing Guild and we will present information on these topics and more.  There will be time for questions as well.   See you there!

    WINDSOR SABERS

Coach Victor is planning on offering a beginning fencing class on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Windsor Rec. Center.  He will also offer a competitive saber class from 6:40 to 8:00 p.m. on Mondays.  Starting date has not been confirmed.  Please contact Coach Victor at (303) 519-2729 for more information.  Remember, USA Fencing Membership is required for all participants in classes provided through High Plains Fencing Guild and fencers are required to bring their own gear for competition classes.

    Happy New Year!

Hope your holidays were peaceful and enjoyable.  Wednesday Competition Epee classes begin Wednesday, January 3rd.    Friday is foil month and we begin on January 12th.  There is NO FENCING CLASS ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 5TH.  Our students had a wonderful opportunity to receive saber lessons in December from Coach Victor, the premier saber coach in Northern Colorado.  He enjoyed coaching our students and saw lots of promise.  He also liked the facility and is planning on offering Monday Saber classes (see below).  We also will have a parents and fencers meeting at the Windsor library this month, so READ ON!

PLEASE NOTE:  Our 5 pm youth beginner class was overbooked in December.  If you have not registered for January, please do not wait until the 12th.  It may be too late.  When the class is full, there will be no drop ins allowed by the front desk.

    Good afternoon,

We had our first snow. Keep an eye out for snow days. If I receive word that the Rec. Center is closed on our Friday class day, I will send a note to the membership.

In October, Windsor fencers completed foil training. November is Epee. Please note that December will be saber. Fridays in 2024, we will not be doing saber, just foil and epee rotations. Coming soon, we will have additional coaches joining us from Eaton and providing classes (including saber) on additional days of the week.

    USFA MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL STUDENTS
High Plains Fencing Guild is a member of USA Fencing!

Each student is required to be a member of USA Fencing after their first class or you will not be eligible to participate in class. The entry level membership for students is access membership ($29.00/year). Competitive membership is $99 and required for competition level fencers. See your coach if you have any questions. Membership is obtained through USA Fencing not High Plains or the Rec Center.

USFA offers a discounted club rate for High Plains Fencing, which allows us to keep fencing affordable for the students. Typical club fees are at least $200 a month with no drop in rate. Go to Individual Membership (usafencing.org) to sign up. As of today, they do not have High Plains Fencing listed as an active club, due to our membership this past week. If we are not an option on the list when you sign up, sign up as unaffiliated and you can change your affiliation later.
